Ads in con program books - effective?
Gaylaxicon 2007 (the GLBT SF/F/H convention) is soliciting for ads to its program book. They're wonderfully reasonable - only $20 for an eighth of a page. Does anyone have any thoughts on the effectiveness of con program ads?

Well if I had a program to design an add... for 20 I'd give it a shot.

I did an ad too and just paid for it today. Is anyone from the forum attending this event?

Not attending but I want to do a 1/4 page Anyone with a program that will do high res dpi???? mine knocks it all down to 300dpi

I only bothered with 350 dpi. It looks all right printed, but I have a smaller ad than you intend to buy. Send me your file. I'll see what I can do.

Cool. Could you possibly keep a copy of the program book and let us all know how are ads turned out?

I'm jealous! I just went to DragonCon and had a great time... and I bought a book from an author, although it wasn't erotica (Weapon of Flesh by Christopher Jackson, an AWESOME book if you like fantasy). My husband bought me my first Ellora's Cave book at DragonCon three or four years ago :)

I'm wondering if any of you attend Balticon, which is probably too family friendly to accept erotica, but is definately a place for writers of sci-fi fantasy.

The next time there's anything decent in Montreal, I'm going, if not to push my stuff, then just to see what it's like.
