***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
Torquere Press releases new book:
ANIMAL ATTRACTION August 8, 2007
Gay romance for the beast in all of us.
From the cuddly cuteness of a puppy, the lush fur of an endangered jaguar to the wise eyes of an Indian elephant, beasts of all species abound in Animal Attraction, a new anthology of short stories from Torquere Press. The animals in these stories have a way of making men come together—in all sorts of sexy ways.
Editor Vincent Diamond (Play Ball, Men of Mystery, Hot Cops) is donating 10% of the editor’s proceeds to Peace River Refuge & Ranch, (
www.peaceriverrefuge.org). and In Harmony with Nature, (www.inharmonywithnature.org), both located in Florida. The charities provide a variety of domestic and wildlife care and are non-profit organizations.
The Animal Attraction stories offer a variety of characters, settings, conflict and relationships. Aaron Michaels offers a tempting tale that features feline grace and sensuality in “Make Me Beg”. “Brahmas and Pitbulls” takes readers to a Texas ranch where a dog stumbles into a new home—and two hunky cowboys. In Elazarus Wills’ “A Hound, A Bay Horse, and a Turtledove”, elk and bear are the impetus for the encounter between a game warden and a scholar.
“White Mountain” takes readers to the American West, where endangered jaguars lead former lovers to an intense week in the mountains. KC Warwick lets a horse lead the way for a sexy blacksmith and a man on the run in “Cold Iron”. “Gerbil Falls in Love” follows a just-a-tad neurotic gerbil owner and the veterinarian who cares for both of them.
Neil Plakcy’s “Canine Connection” whisks readers to South Beach where a feisty Yorkie tangles with a Golden Retriever—and gets their owners tangled up as well. In “Chasing Samson”, by Kiernan Kelly, a lonely bookstore owner chases a friend’s cat straight into the strong arms of a small-town cop. Ansley Vaughan’s “Bungalow Bill” is a charming tale: a temperamental Indian elephant brings men from opposite sides of the world together, in more ways than one.
J.L. Jensen’s contribution is “Indigenous”, the charming story of a Native American and the eagle who brings him love. Another bird story, “Birds of a Feather” is CB Potts’ take on the theme; her barn owl is a charmer and so is his rehabilitator. Sean Michael lets readers—and a visiting veterinarian-- see what horse training is all about in “Horseplay”.
Two dog stories round out the volume: “Puppy Tax” by J. Rocci takes readers up and down the hallways of a hospital to meet a doctor there with more than medicine on his mind. “What We Leave Behind”, from the talented Shanna Germain, is an affecting tale that shows, once again, how animals can bring humans together.
Writers brand new to e-publishing, such as Shanna Germain, Aaron Michaels, Neil Plakcy, K.C. Warwick, and Elazarus Wills join with Torquere veterans J.L. Jensen, Kiernan Kelly, Sean Michael, CB Potts, J Rocci, and B.A. Tortuga. Animal Attraction offers readers gay romance for the beast in all of us.
