another book idea!
okay, so I'm copying Zimraphel's thread idea. I need opinions and I KNOW you people have them 8) I have several short stories written about the same two characters, Matt and Chris. There are five so far, not counting the very first one I wrote about them, which I don't think is worthy of publication. The second in the series, "Autumn's Music," is going in the fall issue of FF, and the first one, "The Cooking Lesson," was up at Ruthie's club in May. I'm planning at least one more, hopefully two. Length runs from about 3K to over 10K on the ones that are already written. I have no idea how long the ones to come are gonna be. I have puzzled over what exactly to do with these things for a while. The first two can stand on their own as short stories, which is one reason I subbed them out, but the others build on those two and they are all linked, like episodes of a TV drama or something. So I've been thinking about eventually putting them all together in an anthology. Is that a stupid idea? Would you guys buy something like that, or not? I'd sort of like to have them in an antho, but there are other things I could do with them if this idea has no merit. What do you think?

It sounds like a good idea to me--anthologies centred around the same characters tend to do better than more diverse collections.

good to know, Em, thanks :)

This is the whole idea behind my Bonny and Bright series - a set of stories all with the same two characters. I could have written it as a novel but it just didn't seem to work that way. JD

I think it's a GREAT idea, hun! I'd love to see an antho with those two! LOL

thanks Liz :) I know what you mean, JD; Matt and Chris just work so much better in short stories. BTW, I'd LOVE to read a Bonnie and Bright antho, hint hint...
