Bayou Bill Rx Bulletin Greetings, fellow scribblers
Over the past few weeks I’ve had the old Veg-a-matic routine (sliced, diced, and Julianned) from the medico’s. Both the operation on my back and the one on my eye seem to have gone well but healing-up is still ongoing and will be for some time.
The main problem for me is that following the corneal transplant, my eye is WAY out of focus. That’s SOP for these things and wouldn’t be that big a problem if I could have a lens implant. But my old orb is so beat-up that’s not possible.
In a few weeks, I should be able to get “cataract” glasses or, even better, a contact lens. After that things will come into something like normal focus and using the ‘puter won’t be the irritating inconvenience it is now.
Till then, y’all keep writing and I’ll keep working on my patience.

All I can say Bill, is you are an amazing trooper, my thoughts and crossed fingers, not to mention prayers go out to you. Kitkat.
PS just went with a friend for a cataract operation, where he discovered halfway through his ocular pressure was too high to continue. Great frustration had by all. But here's hoping the next one is a winner.
Hoping your witty wonderful self, beat up orbs and all, is back on track soon.

Back in the days of yore when my man-child was young and cute, he would rush to answer our phone. One time the caller recognized his voice and said, “Brad?”
To which he answered, “This is me.” Well, this is me, old Bayou Bill, fresh off a trip to see my eyeball doctor.
One of the finest words to fall upon a person’s ear is your doctor checking out his handiwork and saying, “Fantastic!” That’s what I heard during my post-op check-up. It was music to the BB ears. Heck, the eye’s doing so well, I’ve even walked the dogs.
The cornea continues to change shape as it heals, though that’s beginning to slow down. The doc gave me a prescription for glasses that would get me into the 20/60 range - IF - they were available tomorrow. But dat ain’t da case.
These days, when cataracts are removed, a replacement lens is usually implanted. That’s one of the reasons you don’t see that many “milk bottle” glasses anymore.
However, my old eye is so beat-up an implant isn’t an option and those old style cataract glasses have become a special order item—think two weeks.
Still the eyesight is better. The doc suggested placing some store-bought reading glasses over the old pair of cataract glasses (circa early ’80’s) I’m using. That’s made using the ‘puter easier.
Thanks to everyone for all the kind wishes. And I'm sorry about rambling on about me and my eye. Just be grateful I didn't have a hemorrhoid-ectomy. :D
