Book nearest to you right now
What is it? Just curious :) (not counting ebooks in this case)

veinglory- 03-18-2008

In my case, perhaps not to my credit: The New Avengers Annual (comic book)

kmfrontain- 03-18-2008

Eckhart Tolle's A New EArth and, as usual, my dictionaries.

On top of my nearest bookcase is a hardback copy of "Dilbert's Management Handbook" that I keep under my twenty-year old ivy, Buford. There is an audio version of Martha Sherrill's "The Ruins of California" (recommended - Ruins is a family name) that's just a bit closer. Bayou Bill 8)

Napoleon Bonaparte by Alan Schom (one of my characters is reincarnated). It's a lot of fun to be able to have your character say "I was Napoleon Bonaparte in a previous life" and have it be true. Hmm, actually, almost all of my characters are reincarnated, it's part of the structure of my alternate reality universe.

We're a diverse lot, it seems :)

Right in front of me on the desk is The Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Dolls and Collectibles, by Sibyl DeWein and Joan Ashabraner. Next to that is Jedi Apprentice #9: The Fight for Truth. Also on my desk: Will Storr Vs. the Supernatural. There may be other books here, but I'm afraid if I dig for them the balance will be upset...and then I really will have to clean this frigging desk off.

Lamia- 03-21-2008

'The Lost Language of Cranes' by David Leavitt. 'The Cut of His Coat' by Brent Shannon and, tragically, 'You on a Diet' by Roizen and Oz. (It doesn't work...)

Dusk- 03-23-2008

"The Hunt for Red October," but I'm not going to count that one, because it bored me to tears. That's why it's sitting neglected on my Internet desk. Um . . . Do magazines count? "Gnosis: A Journal of the Western Inner Traditions." Otherwise, it's the books on the outward-facing side of my reference shelf (i.e. the ones I use less often): The Book of Common Prayer, the RSV Bible, and William Smith's "Smaller Classical Dictionary."

Now it's 'A Different Light' by LK Campbell. I just reviewed it for POD People :)

Goal, Motivation & Conflict by Deb Dixon. I am preparing for a pitch, so thought it would help.
