Can't do one for the first five, but oooo...will definitely be looking out for the others!

I believe we'll have one or two cards that will very much appeal to you! 8) We've worked hard to supply cards that will inspire authors across the board.

veinglory- 06-02-2007

Just to confirm, MM is okay?

veinglory- 06-02-2007

BTW for print purposes have you considered having an mm specific 5? I would be kinda interested in that if you did...

deannalee- 06-02-2007

M/M is perfectly fine. In fact, we have designed several cards with that in mind. As for an all male/male anthology-- it is not within our plans. We're just looking at finding the best story for each card... and after we've picked out all twenty-five stories we'll have a better idea as to what the anthologies will look like.

Should your submission to a given card be accepted, what would the deadline be for turning in the completed work? Also, can you tell me if I understand the proposition correctly? What I understand is this: the cards, such as the moon, have a write up with it. What you would expect is a story that somehow reflects that card description?

I just downloaded the submission guidelines. I love how the specifics are already set up. I can't WAIT to see what the other cards are! I've already got my human and my vamp forming. LOL

Never mind my question about what each story should be about, I've found that information. I still can't find where it says what the deadline for turning in the completed work would be though.

The deadline will depend on contract date- as each set will be contracted on a different date. At this point our thinking is that the manuscript would be due 90 days from contract offer. YES- the card itself and the theme of it must appear in the story. The PDF download details this. I will say that no story in the first 24 cards may use the character of Sam beyond the mention of his name nor may any author attempt to explain where the card comes from.

5 More Cards are now available.

mychael_black- 06-08-2007

Heee!!!!!!!!!! Oh, MAN! Oh, if only those were due at the end of July. *cries*

deannalee- 06-08-2007

The last set of cards will be due August 1. So there is a month between card release and deadline for proposals. In the proposal- I need a brief but focused outline of the story, then the character profiles, and the first 1k. Most of the proposals packets we've received so far have pushed right at 2k total but I would be fine with 1500 words total.

mychael_black- 06-08-2007

Hmmm... Given that the proposal is due July 7th, that might be more feasible for me. Heh, I've already got my vamp, when he was turned, where/when he was born; and my mortal (and where/when he was born, his parents, etc). LOL

deannalee- 06-08-2007

:-). Of course- all accepted authors will have 3 months to write the actual novella for publication.
