I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here! I spent two weeks in France and then came back to night shifts. As well as which I am immersed in Nano. Some people will know that I managed to pour sherry into my laptop on the 11th, and thus lost 20000 words of my Nano novel. I sat down and reconstructed it over about forty-eight hours. Yesterday, my laptop, having been completely dead for two weeks, suddenly rose again from the dead. But of course, I've rewritten the book now. Aaaaaargh. Anyhow, I'm here. I wouldn't want my forum to go into the twilight zone at the bottom...

:( Lost 20k words? That's enough to send me into a crying fit for two days. I'm sorry,dear. I'm glad you recovered, but still...

Thank you! I felt physically ill. And I'd also been revising another novel, with some quite complex rewrites and that had gone too. Not to mention the fact I thought I'd destroyed a very nice laptop. But I was quite proud of rewriting it in 48 hours, although it doesn't say much for the quality of my writing!

Ow. Poor you, and poor laptop. But go you for getting the 20k back in 48 hrs. :-)

I meant to say yesterday, but I was too exhausted, that I finally submitted my manuscript to NaNo for verification. It came out at 62,567. That was thanks to my retrieving the earlier 20,000 words from the sherry-sodden laptop that came back to life. It was fun, and it definitely made me get on with it. But next time I'd choose an easy contemporary subject. Anyone else?
