Is it bad that it makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who's a bit freaked by the whole thing?
Nope you weren't the only one. I can't help wondering if using forums as a way of contact between authors, editors, artists and establishment is more risky than just peer-to-peer email, which is something I'm more familiar with.
I hope that they have sucess in getting their servers back up.

At one time they did things one on one, but I was told there were a lot of problems with that. I never could find out what the problems were.

The forums had some issues too. I always had to email Rebecca for updates and when I wanted royalties updates anyway :(

No I haven't. I found a link on their website for a yahoo group for readers that seems to be mostly spam so I didn't bother joining. If there's another I'm unaware.
Thanks for the commiseration, though. It's wierd and kind of funny that my second sale is going to end up being released before my first lol. Is it bad that it makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who's a bit freaked by the whole thing?
I think that's the only one, but I've not noticed a lot of spam though. It's one of the more quiet groups I'm on.
I'm freaked too. I signed my first contract with them in August. Full Circle was supposed to be in the hands of readers in Decemeber. Then there was a problem with the art department (which was explained to me and I hold no fault against anyone there) and that caused a delay. We shot for a release date in Jan or Feb.
Then there was an ugly battle with the art department. That was solved to my satisfaction, but I was warned that it would be another delay. At that point, I didn't care about the delay.
Things trucked a long for a quite a while and then something important got lost. >.< And that led to a bit of "have you heard from..." stuff.
About two days after that was solved, the DoS attack started.
Have any idea how hard it is to generate buzz for a title when you can't even give an estimate for release? >.<
And that's just one title.
Let me stress that I don't fault Rebecca or Chip/LAP for any of this. Things happen and it just seems that a lot of things happen around this title. Rebecca has been responsive everytime I e-mail her for an update. (Something I haven't done for a bit because of the DoS attack.)
I have three titles with them and they've all stalled. That's part of the reason I'm giving "About to Sin" the bulk of my attention right now. It carries a sense of completion. LOL!
Maybe I'm more tolerant than I should be, but I really like Rebecca and I feel like she honestly cares about Chip and her authors.

Oh, and now my mother is jumping in on it with...
"Maybe they decided to not publisher your titles and they don't want to tell you."
Sigh...No, Mom, it's just delays.

LOL thanks, Mom. ;)
Yes, I always found it very productive to contact Rebecca who always managed to work out what was going on and get back to me promptly.

GAH! Mom no, bad thing to say lol. Though I will admit to having that thought cross my mind in my bigger freak out moments lol.
Wow, I'm sorry for all the hassle you've had with your book being released. I hope they get everything straightened out soon. I guess I'm just going to put it out of my mind for a while, focus on getting my other book ready for release and see what happens with LAP and Joshua's Muse.

Meh, it will all work out, I'm sure.
I'm really sorry for your troubles too. I don't want to see this run if issues leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth. I'm afraid that some authors might take this as a sign to not submit to them or something like that.
They're good. They're honest. And Rebecca is three tastes of sweet. All of the editors I've worked with have been awesome and responsive.
That's not to say I won't submit things anywhere else (that's crazy for an author to do), but I do consider them my home publisher.

I know at one point she'd send out so many e-mails at one time with the royalty statements that she'd get a lot of them bounced back due to her ISP thinking she was sending spam or something like that.
I thought all of that had been worked out. :(

Not a word. *sighs* I have no idea what's going on and no one seems inclined to tell.

I asked on the loop for your assigned editor to contact you. I can only assume you hadn;t been assigned an editor yet?

I have no idea. The last I spoke with anyone was over a month ago when Rebecca emailed me with a short note about the server issues and said that I'd hear from someone soon.
I did manage to track down the author's group a few days ago and joined. I posted but as of yet haven't heard anything.
Basically I have no information. If I'd been assigned an editor I don't know who. I'm still attempting to find out if they ever recieved my signed copy of the contract or not, which was sent two months ago. I totally understand things were hectic there for a while with the DOS attack, but according to the author's group that's been resolved. I just wish someone, anyone, would email me back and let me know what's going on, but as of yet nothing.
I must admit I'm beginning to panic a bit. I've done everything I can think of to contact someone, but with no real point of contact person it's been no go.
