Conventions Who is going to a con in the next year, amnd which ones? I have limited holiday time and need to make some plans.... I am looking for somewhere good for networking, gather info and maybe with a book signing or good sales table area?

Man, I need to start checking when the next book con or something remotely slashy happens in Montreal. I have no idea.

I'm going to Con-txt, the M/s Conference, and Gaylaxicon, all in D.C. I haven't been to Gaylaxicon, but Vincent has - he could answer questions about its promo opportunities, if you haven't been to it before.

I'm going to Con-txt and Gaylaxicon.

I'll be at RT (probably just Thurs - Sat), Epic wants me to do a panel on contracts. And then probably YaoiCon again next October.

I'm planning on Saints & Sinners in May in New Orleans. For promo, I'm going to try some local/Fla Pride fests and see how it goes. For writing, I'm attending a week-long writer's workshop in January and possibly a second in June.
That's a lot for me:).

I want to go to yaoicon so BAD!

They're going to have one in Phenoix in 2008 btw. I'll see where I stuck the flyer for that and get back to you.

I'll be at RT, RWA (because it's in San Fran this year), and considering EPICon. Man Portland is a looong way from NC.
My first release is in Jan. I know I'll get the best marketing bang from RT.
I waffled on RWA. I have very little to sell this season because I’m just getting back to writing and behaving like an author. But, I’m taking my mom on an Alaskan cruise and the if the timing is the same, I can fly to San Fran for RWA, then meet mom in Seattle. That way, I can at least write that airfare off.

I'll definately be at Katsucon in DC and Con.txt in Silver Spring MD. I am interested in going to more writers conventions, but money and location are an issue.
If anyone knows of any good writers conventions on the eastern seaboard, let me know.
I am hoping to be able to attend Epic at some point but Oregon is a ways.
Thanks Dusk! Just curious. Is it a good place to promote? Author panels and such? Have you ever been to Balticon?
Dusk- 11-07-2007
Authors definitely show up, but Vincent is the one to ask about promotion - he just got back from Gaylaxicon. I haven't attended it myself. I can say that there were quite a few small-press and author ads in the convention program.
I haven't had the money to go to Balticon, alas.

Just out of curiousity, will there ever be an ERECon
