Do you cry at your own writing? Liz and I were just discussing this and I wondered if anyone else got so involved with their characters and/or their wriitng that they cried while they were writing?

*nods and sniffles* Once I get that scene rewritten, I'll post it.

sometimes if they're hurting? sure. They're like family, so it hurts to see them hurt

I've even cried when just thinking through the story idea without writing it down...

Okay, I'll admit that I've been guilty of that too. That happened to me before I wrote down/typed out the final chapter of Legacy. I envisioned the scene in which Mychael broke down in Morgan's arms, and the one in which he said Morgan was Heaven to him. I cried just from thinking about those scenes. LOL

I've never cried at an idea but I have cried at my own stories, especially when the ending is a) quite sentimental and b) 'just right' if you know what I mean....

I am a bit worried about the current book which is being written more mechanistically--trying to shove some emotion in it where I can ...

I cry at the sad parts when I write them and I do believe in that old saying "tears in the writer, tears in the reader".

hell yes. more before pen takes to paper or fingertips to keys. at that stage it's like being a psychic getting a powerful vision.

I am very guilty of that. I've cried several times while working on Bee Among the Clover most recently. Which made it a bit awkward at work a couple of times.

I've had my moments when the emotional rush is going high. Especially with Mael. He seems to be the worst.
mychael_black- 03-16-2006
Mael and Cian are good at that. LOL
Zimraphel- 03-16-2006
I've had my moments, though not lately. I haven't been able to work much nowadays.
Tavaran- 03-17-2006
Sorry to hear that, Zim. Hopefully teh muse will re-ignite soon. :)
