editing fatigue
I love publishers whose editors and copyeditors really go over the work with a fine toothed comb. But am I the only one who, after 8 passes or so, just want to say--change it, do anything, I don't care any more and am losing the will to live!

But am I the only one who, after 8 passes or so, just want to say--change it, do anything, I don't care any more and am losing the will to live! IMHO, nope. At worst it's a passive-aggresive, ego-trip by the editor; at best it's a very inefficient and unproductive use of time. Bayou Bill 8)

I can't fault 99% of what they are picking up and they don;t insist I change the 1% so I can't really complain (although I am). I just have a limited attention span. For me, once the first draft has been finished I really have lost interest in the thing. I mean, once I know how the story ends... zzzzzzzzz Oh well. Done now. :)

p.s. Bill, congrats on the membership rose. Looks like you are well on your way to becoming a forum addict. brimg a few friends, we're having a revival ;) Honors just keep falling on my head, though, truth be told, much less frequently than the far more common brickbats and bird droppings. Makes for a nice change of pace. Bayou Bill 8)

After a few passes, I'm sick to death of looking over the same words. :? But, what can we do? The editing must be done.
