Erotic Authors Association accepting new members I promised to let everyone know when the new EAA Website was online. I'm accepting membership applications - but not for long, because my eyes are getting into their late winter crankiness. If you don't want to wait till spring, drop me an e-mail now. (If you're not reading this soon after I post it, check the Join Us page to see whether I've closed the membership applications process yet.)
The Join Us page lists member benefits. All writers of erotic literature (including erotic romance) are welcome to apply. Authors must have had their writings published or self-published in print, electronically, on the Internet, in audio or video format, or have had their writings performed. There's also a Professionals category, for non-author professionals who work with erotic literature, such as editors. And do take note that the Corporate Members category includes forums. :)
For those of you who'd just like to browse, there are some goodies linked at the site.

Woohoo! Thanks for the heads-up, Dusk. Soon as I can, I'll be joining. :)

I'll be joining too! :D

ERWF is gossip central. :) I post a little notice here for you guys, and the next thing I know I have eleven e-mails in my inbox, most of them *not* from ERWF authors. How you got word all the way over to the leathermen in the space of two hours . . . <impressed>
You'll excuse me, then, if I'm a tad delayed in acknowledging everyone's e-mail. :)

Okay, the first fifteen applications are responded to. :)
James Buchanan- 02-14-2007
<grin> okay, I had nothing to do with the leathermen tho...
cupnjava- 02-14-2007
And applied. If my membership has to be rejected because my titles aren't yet released to the public, I'll understand.

Oh, sure, sure. And you're not to blame for the ad at Times Square either. :)

You've got stories self-published; that's good enough. What I mainly check for when I read through applications is evidence that the person is aiming toward being a pro or semi-pro author. I'd be the first to uphold the respectability of being an amateur author, but somebody who's only interested in being published in the amateur world wouldn't get much benefit from the organization.
So you're a shoo-in. :)
Dusk (still wading through mail)

:) I just wanted to make sure you knew there would be no hard feelings in case anyone wanted to get "technical."

No, just the ones on Torquere Author's loop, Phaze Author's loop, ManloveRomance Co-op and the M/M Author Networking group. As all of them have, at one time or another, had members discussing the old/the new/or the transition of the EEA.
Oh, and it it the Leatherman was named Cain... then he was my fault. o.0

Jeez louise, can I hire you to do the publicity for my next book? Thanks much for your help. (No sarcasm; this was something I needed to do eventually, and you've saved me a lot of work.)

I could put it on the EPIC list... with a please forward. But I didn't want to drown you with e-mails.

As long as you emphasize the February 18 deadline. I'm fine about taking applications till then (I say wearily, after six hours' straight work on this today), but February 18 is a firm deadline, to give myself a couple of days to wrap things up before I go offline. I'm giving up the Web for Lent. :)

I'd die.
