PML! <--pissing myself laughing. I got tired of ROTFL. My mom has this superstition about knives, btw. If she gives one, you have to give her a penny. She believes a knife given as a gift will cut a relationship, therefore it must be paid for, even if only with a penny.

I think it's a British superstition. My mom's parents were British. She's Canadian, but born in Britain.

I think it's a British superstition. My mom's parents were British. She's Canadian, but born in Britain. Oh cool! I think I'll have to look that up in my Encylopedia of Supersitions and see if there's any info on it.

I think it's a British superstition. My mom's parents were British. She's Canadian, but born in Britain. Yep, yep. I go with that one. Mind you, I'm the most superstitious person on the planet...

She counts crows too. Last time she counted thirteen, she gave us an accident on a highway (not fatal, not very bad). I say it's her fault, because she put the accident in the future believing in the badness of thirteen crows. Very powerful, my mom. She just doesn't really know it. Anyhow, when she gets into one of her superstition things, I pay close attention so I can either go along and/or find a way to circumvent the problem to her satisfaction.

BTW -------------------> post 300, and it was just another number <------------- Yes. The Encyclopedia of Superstitions Edited and revised by Christina Hole (then there's a line with E and M.A. Radford) Published by Barnes and Nobels books in arrangement with Helicon Publishing Limited ISBN: 0-76070-228-4 First published 1948, then 1961 and my edition is 1996. I snagged it from the discount table. How could I live without a book like that? Good luck finding it!
