Legitimate lurking
Hi all, Just a note to say that members still showing no posts after one month will be deleted. To avoid this just reply to your welcome post, or make any post, and I will leave you to lurk in peace.

Lurking
Thanks, I am an inveterate lurker but usually don't have too much to say. 8)

Many thanks for letting us know you are still around. I am just trying to avoid the normal situation where the forum membership looks quite big but only 10% have ever posted!

veinglory- 07-06-2005

As our membership climbs we are changing the lurking rule so that is a members still has zero posts after two months they will be deleted. To avoid having your membership deleted just make at least one post!

Glad to hear it!

Carol Storm- 10-23-2005

I just joined, finding my way around. I have made the decision today to try my hand at erotica. I have essays, poetry and short fiction published both online and in print, but it's under my real name. Carol Storm is the pen name I chose today. I have also written a middle reader novel under my real name, and I am an editor/reporter for a small weekly newspaper, so those two things make it imperative that I use a pen name for erotica. I have been told I am a good storyteller, and erotica seems like it is really open to new writers. I'm going to check out your website thoroughly and plan to become an active particpant. I have the site ERB bookmarked also, plus links to con-*test*-('") and markets, other resources I have found today. Maybe the first thing I need to do to put me in the mood is find me a sexy avatar. :D

All the moderators must be out to lunch, or you would have gotten an official welcome here before now. So I'll give you an unofficial welcome. :) "I am an editor/reporter for a small weekly newspaper." I used a pen name when I first started writing stories with erotic scenes in them, for the same reason - I was working as a journalist. Well, I still am, but now I write erotic news articles. :)

mychael_black- 10-24-2005

Howdy! :D It's so wonderful to see another writer sucked into...err...trying out writing erotica. ;) Liz

I'm not Em, but... I just went through the memberlist and didn't see vdiamond listed at all, hun. I seriously doubt you would have been outright removed, but you're not showing up. Feel free to re-register, unless Em has an idea what might have happened. :) ~Liz/Kay

Dusk- 11-03-2005

Liz, could this possibly be part of the technical glitch we're discussing at the other thread? Maybe the forum lost a few log-in names when resetting itself.

mychael_black- 11-03-2005

It wouldn't surprise me in the least. *sighs* Vincent, go ahead and re-register. If your name isn't on the membership list, then there's no way (that I know of) that it can be found otherwise. Sorry for that, hun. :(

Tavaran- 11-04-2005

Would it have been under your other name, hon? The TK one? I seem to remember seeing that on the list, but I've never seen VDiamond....

Dusk, please tell me about that lovely picture under your sign in name with every post you make. The painting, I mean. It looks beautiful and I wish I could see a bigger image of it.

Dusk- 11-07-2005

"Dusk, please tell me about that lovely picture under your sign in name with every post you make." Of course I was hoping someone would ask. :) The picture is a portion of a painting by Evelyn De Morgan, "The Angel of Death" - couldn't find its exact date, alas, but it's from somewhere around the end of the nineteenth century. I used it in my banner for The Eternal Dungeon, because the main characters in the series are a young man and a middle-aged torturer who just so happens to wear a hood. http://www.duskdarkling.org/eternaldungeonbanner.jpg The comment I got on the banner when I sent it to friends to be betaed was, "Is that hooded figure a woman?" I was amused by this because, while the hooded figure is a man, nobody guessed that the "young man" is actually a young woman. My banner designer was crafty in his cropping. :) Here's the original: http://art.pro.tok2.com/M/Morgan/morg07.jpg
