Need info on werecreatures I'm writing a novel that started out as just your normal erotic romance but now, 75 pgs in, I want to turn it into a paranormal romance. The heroine's love intrest is a wereleopard. She doesn't know it yet.
She was married to this other guy for 15 years. I would like for his deep dark secret to be that he is a wereleopard also. Is it possible for him to have hidden it from her for 15 years?
Her parents were werecreatures as well and the deal was that he could
marry her as long he kept their secret. Tim, hubby is going to send her a letter blowing the whole secret wide open, but not before her ner new love interest has a chance to reveal his own little secret.
Is this plausible or should I try some other way to work werecreatures into this story. I haven't written this part yet. I don't want to write it if it's not believable.
Thanks in advance.

Well, you can watch the movie Cat People. Another source of how were creatures work is various fantasy gaming systems, like Dungeons and Dragons. You basically have to figure out how weres work in your world. Once you know that, answering the rest of your questions gets a lot easier.

I agree with marguerite. And "plausible" is sorta a red-herring in paranormals. If you can create a world and mythology rules set that can explains things and is internally consistent and can support your view, just about anything can be made to work.
It's the joy of writing paranormal.

Because fantasy elements can work in your book however you want them too, I would guess it could be entirely plausible for him to be able to hide it from her.

Thanks everyone,
I did notice in the oceans of paranormal romances that I have been reading lately ( I can't seem to put them down) that different authors do
treat creatures like vampires and werecreatures differently. Since I first posted this question I have written in at least one werecreature scene and it doesn't sound outlandish at all. It sounds perfectly normal, so I guess I'll just take it from there.
I would like to say I'm reading them to research my romance novel writing, but alas, I cannot. I'm hopelessly hooked on paranormal romance. The second story I'm writing has the heroine falling in love with
the ghost of her husband from a past life. He has searched through the centuries to find her. She's the only one who can help him get what he wants. Her. In the end true love will find a way for them to be together again. I love this stuff, I can't get enough!!!
Thank again for the advice, it was very helpful.
