Soon the Homo-Haters are going to be like "Look at the gay people getting divorced clogging up the courts! See it was a mistake to let them get married, now they are just a drain on the system"
So, not only will gay marriage destroy the institution of marriage, it will make it harder to get a divorce, too.
Many stats have laws that are gender driven when it comes to divorce.
With homosexuals, because unlike "Traditional" marriage, where the guy gets shafted, the woman gets the kids, there now arises many issues that can be argued and this drags out the court time and cases which of course just bogs down the divorce system.
Will this lead to it becoming harder to get a divorce? Actually I think it will lead to divorce becoming easier to get. (is that a good thing? - that is open to discussion)
I believe it will lead to many knee-jerk laws that will just fall into place and this make issues even more confusing, as I said, many laws are gender driven, now new laws (made by people with out a clue) will most likely focus on "Gender Role" issues (if Homosexuals are lucky), worst case would be a lack of gender identity to homosexual couples meaning that they 'Are both men" or "gender even", but that might lead to normal marriages being consider "gender even" and that might be a -- (well dang, now that I think about it) --- might be good thing to tell the truth.
Ungood.

Ungood, now I'm impressed.
Personally, I think that there will be about as many long drawn out divorces arising out of same-sex marriages as there are in hetero--There certainly are plenty of those-- but not so many more in reality. Of course the news media will make it look like many more, jumping on any chance to report dirty laundry. And for a while, same-sex dirty laundry will look much dirtier than hetero.
But, maybe you're right, and same-sex relationship dynamics might influence het ones a little bit. (Of course hetero relationships have been the presumed model for gays for hundreds of years. Gay couples are always getting asked; "Who plays the woman?" or, for lesbians, "Who wears the pants?")
