Pooh. Forget the non-writer negative attitude. Some people have create in them. Some don't. Look at who says it and ask yourself if they create art? If they don't, they have no business criticizing your urge. Artists push society forward. Writing is art. Writers tend to be slightly on the hermit side, just as painters do, except painters might get out to paint a scene elsewhere than home. And how many hours do any of them spend on crafts? Bull shit if they put you down and they spend hours on knitting, needlework or anything else. That's their thing. Writing is yours. There. Done my rant. ;-)

LOL. Yeah, it never fails to amaze me when people put down the artist for being one. They need to read more history about who influenced the formation of the modern world. We've got mass murderers and conquerors (Napoleon, Hitler, the Roman emperors, Alexander the Great). We've got politicians (bore me shitless). We've got scientists and saints. And we have artists, which include writers. Joe Shmoe and Sally Who will be lucky if an artisanal ceramic pot they made and signed in a craft class is dug up by an archeologist two thousand years from now.
