So even if a guy is quite comprehensively gay, I am thinking a girl getting all up close and personal could get him aroused, right?

If a guy was het, would another guy getting all up close get him aroused?

The best I can do is that I am pretty sure if a woman was straight another woman could still turn her on, manually if necessary. I guess guys can't be that different... Meh, this guy is going to me, it's required for the plot

I'm sure that's the case. There's a certain amount that can be done by pure mechanics, after all. Unless this is a person who actively dislikes women -- which I imagine would be a complete turn-off -- it sounds fine to me.

If I were heterosexual, I might be able to offer a better opinion. :) But the whole idea of only being attracted to *one* sex is still a notion I'm trying to wrap my mind around.

I think being attracted to only one sex is more a "learned" mind set than a biological one. I think humans are all to some degree bisexual, but social conditioning terrifies most people into ignoring urges toward the same sex. I also believe that people can have a stronger preference for one sex as compared to the other.

Hmm. My in person writing group didn't like it. The females that is. The one gay (not gay) was like 'a lap dance is a lap dance'.
