Short story collection accepted by Lethe Press! Lethe Press has accepted my as-yet-untitled short story collection, to be published in spring 2008. Editor Steve Berman will be whipping various pieces into further shape, including the Steven & Conrad series, along with at least one new story. Publication is scheduled for debut at Saints & Sinners in early May.
Needless to say, I'm thrilled and excited and nervous. Choosing the right stories from the past few years' publications will be fun and agonizing at the same time. It's a bit of a quandary; I want to show range but don't want things to feel scattered. I want there to be an overarching "vibe" but don’t' want it to be repetitious.
Just wanted to share the news! I am holding a con-*test*-('") to name the book. Details on are my LJ here:

Awesome Vincent!! :D

Nice one Vincent! Have you published anything with them before?
vincentdiamond- 11-10-2007
Tav, this is my first with Lethe. My previous GLBT print pubs have all been with Alyson, Cleis, Haworth or StarBooks. Lethe is a small independent and the way things are going with the "established" bigger name publishers, I'm happy to throw in with a more personal publisher.
Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Good luck and I'll be interested to know how you get on with them. :)

A complete anthology all to yourself. woooo hoooo... very cool.

thanks for all the kind words; it's nice to have the support.
Question for other authors: has anyone tried doing promotions at Gay Pride events? If so, was it worthwhile? Any advice you'd give to someone doing these events. Many of them in the U.S. are in the summer, so I may be able to hit a few and -*test*-('") the waters.
Thoughts welcome!

Vincent, doing it in conjunction with a local bookstore may be the best idea. In Northampton, MA (and probably at most Gay Pride events) businesses and individuals set up tables at the rally after the march, and a bookstore that carries your book would probably be glad to have you do a signing.

Woohoo, Congrats! And good luck on the promotion.
