Only 1161 yesterday, which isn't good progress when I had the whole day, but I got sidetracked into writing synopses and blurbs for other things I need to get out. Will try to do a bit more today.
It's a week since I started and we're at 8,207, which I suppose isn't bad, since I was working. But you do hear of people writing ten thousand words a day. I guess I lack concentration.

No, you're just not Barbara Cartland. Which is probably a Good Thing. :D

Oh I don't know, I'd quite like to float around in pink organdie with feathers in my hair and a little powder-puff dog. :D
I seem to remember Barbara Cartland didn't actually write, well not in her later years. She dictated into a little machine, and a secretary transcribed it all. I think I'd find that impossible to do.

I *know* I'd find it impossible. I wouldn't mind the dog, though. Or the secretary if he was handsome enough. :D

Just taking up where I left off with this. I had to concentrate on the line-edits for The Facility Trip, and on work and life and all that sort of thing.
It stalled. I'm on 10462, but am going to have a real sustained go at it next week, doing a BIAW challenge with Fennie and CassandraKane.
I'm still a bit concerned about the slightly abstruse nature of the subject matter -- might post a bit of the opening and see what everyone thinks. It's really only the beginning and the end which has a lot of specifically parliamentary content.

The BIAW challenge was terrific. I can thoroughly recommend it if you're stuck. I set myself to write 1,500 words a day, which doesn't sound a lot, but is if you're working and trying to do lots of other things. I managed to do at least that every day, and now \"The Intern\" stands at 30,051. I reckon it will go to about 40,000.
I have to say, though, that this was the most closely plotted of any of my novels, in that I knew exactly what was going to happen all the way through it and had most of the scenes in my head. That doesn't usually happen wth me.

Wonderful progress Lamia.

IT'S FINISHED
I typed the last paragraph a short while ago and now I'm having a glass of wine to celebrate.
42,589. Not a bad length? It's twice as long as 'The Facility Trip'.

*Hugs* Congrats sweetie. Have a glass for me as well.

Whoo! Congrats.

Congrats!! What a feeling, eh? 8)

Well, it's gone off.
I really, really like this one.
Fingers and everything else firmly crossed.
