I know I'm new to the world of prof writing, but this seems odd to me. What about you guys?

I imagine 'small independent publisher' means 'self-publisher in need of book doctor'.

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't want to rewrite someone else's book, I have my own work that needs my attention.

If they posted a good rate up front, what the hell. But actually there are plenty of known and respected book doctors out there across the reasonable price range--I don't know why you would seek one this way.

Why only the first fifty pages? Sounds more like someone wanting help with a partiial for submissiion to me.... *scratches head*
