[WANTED] m/m short stories
This is going to sound dumb but I'm having a hard time finding any paying markets for m/m *short* stories (anything up to 10,000 words). Everyone and his dog seems to want novels and novellas now, and the only shorts are in themed anthologies - and they're pretty thin on the ground. Any suggestions? Help? LOL

We pay flat rates at ED. Umm...*thinks on other places that pay royalties*

LAP takes them that length. (whoa...that sentence as SO many meanings.) And FB or LC does. Dang, can't remember which. >.<

But seriously ;) I get Freya's Bower but not the other two. Torquere does shorts for the Grapevine thingy, right?

Ellora's Cave (EC is what I meant). I THINK the have a catagory that small, but I've not checked them in quite a while.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - Erotic Dreams is currently closed to subs and most of the others don't take stuff that short. FB used to take 2 shorts for their Bites range but stopped publishing those late last year, I think. And I don't think TQ is currently doing the Fresh off the Vine newsletter - last time I checked, it hadn't been updated since around December 06... BENT magazine pay a small amount per story but will soon be changing that to trib copy only. Hmm. I'll keep looking - there's got to be someone!

LAP/Chippewa is currently closed to subs. ED, we're working on getting things secured for the rest of the year. I don't know offhand how much space we've got left. Would have to ask Shayne.

Cobblestones new ezine, perhaps?

mychael_black- 06-03-2007

Or...what's the lowest Phaze takes for a regular HeatSheet?

Tavaran- 06-03-2007

I think 5000, possibly 10,000. I did look. :) There's a handful of new anthologies calling for subs, I'm off to comb through the small print on those. :D

Oooh, CPQ (Cobblestone's quarterly ezine) want short stories 1000-5000 words and any heat rating from romance to erotic. Thanks for the tip, Em. :)
