Re: Characters describing themselves
It's just weird to hear it and weird to read it. Someone of the opposite sex decribing someones pert breasts or firm ass is acceptable as long as it's not overdone. Too much distracts you from the good stuff going on in the scene. We get you think she has a nice ass and pert little breasts, you wouldn't be in this postion if she didn't. Can we just get on with the scene please ??? Just my two cents !!!

I try to limit "firm ass" to when someone is actually grabbing said ass or otherwise would have their attention drawn directly to the ass in question. (Dunno why I typed this post that way, just felt like it. Yep, felt it and it was firm.)

Oh I have one.... The heroine looking at the hero's cock for the first time and thinking it will never fit inside her. Or split her in two because it is so big. Ugh. How many women actually think that?? Or men for that matter?

veinglory- 03-12-2008

Ew. And if it really is that big. Ew. Seriously, I wonder of female-authored porn has vestigal elemant of male-oriented porn. Like the penis size obsession and some of the stuff about breasts?

I've seen the "it's too big" theme often in historical het romance novels. Unless a shit load of men secretly write torrid historical romances, I'd say this is a clichéd idea in the romance novel genre and that women are responsible for perpetrating it. Perpetrating, not penetrating. Maybe it's this stupid thing about having to write a "virgin gets laid" scene. They all seem to have to have a virgin gets laid scene. It's cliché in itself.

Maybe they aren't that big and these girls just have *tiny* vaginas?

I just have to comment about the Penis thing... if a girl is 5'-2 and she sees a man drop out 10 in of meat in her face and it is not even hard yet... now unless this woman is a professional porn star and there this is a piad job I believe the fist thing that is going to slam into her head is not going to be "I am so going to enjoy that" because in truth... his penis is what..? The size of her freaking forearm??? Sorry... but in reality I would expect a woman to say something like "Ummm I think I changed my mind... I would rather have sex with a guy that is not going to be slamming his dick all the way into my lungs through my vagina, do you happen to have any friends of yours that have dicks around the five and half to six inch range... you know... normal size little pocket cocktail weenies that I can enjoy without busting a hole in cervix?" But that is just me...
