What's in your ears?
I'm putting this under the public workshop, because it is work related in my eyes at least. Feel free to move it. As discussed in another thread some of us listen to music while we write and some of us don't. I do. I have three different play lists for sex scenes and various other play lists for other types of scenes. For the sex scenes… what's in your ears? I have some expected songs such as Madonna's \"Erotica\", NIN \"Closer\", Korn's \"A.D.A.I.D.A.S\" remix, Alice Cooper's \"Poison\", Savage Garden's \"Break Me Shake Me\", a million different version of Madonna's \"Justify My Love\" and way too many 80's love songs. I'd bore you to death if I listed them all. What has me curious is that Depeche Mode's \"Personal Jesus\" and \"A Pain That I'm Used To\" have wiggled their way into my sex play lists. Any surprises on your play lists?

You named two that I've liked for when I have, not so much erotica, but dominance issues in the plot. NIN, Closer, and Korn's Adidas. But I also like Disturbed's Stupify. And then I get stuck on songs that become the theme for a particular book. Gorillas Dare was in my ears all the way through Loved Him to Death One. I had Robbie Williams Tripping, and Gorillas Feel Good, Inc, for part of Tristan. I had all of the Savage Garden albums for many of the early Soulstone books, and most of Linkin Park at the same time, not to mention some things by Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Razed in Black. Yeah. Savage Garden and hard metallica. Woot!

Don't feel bad with your \"odd\" combos. I've got Linkin Park for one scene and Enya for another. LOL!

Oh how disappointing! I thought this thread was about one of my favourite topics -- earrings. Now I'll have to go away and think again!

I have an odd combination of Metallica and Willie Nelson.

kmfrontain- 08-28-2006

 The mind boggles. You have truly shocked me. I've got this image, Willie Nelson in metallica gear. Can't decide whether I'll set him up as a bottom or some truly sadistic top that'll force everyone to listen to old country music half way through the bash. The more I think of it, the more I have to whip Willie senseless. Sorry. Me and coutnry is like me and most rap music, at war over the defintion of good and bad.

DarkMarguerite- 08-28-2006

YEAH...I'm victorious. I've actually succeeded in shocking someone. I love Metallica, they are probably my favorite group ever. However, I did live in Wyoming for 5 years so my love for old country music stems from there.

kmfrontain- 08-28-2006

:Getting out my Willie womping whip: Sooo. What do you think would happen if we put say, Hank Snow's reincarnation with Eminem?

cupnjava- 08-28-2006

LOL! Love that alliteration!

Right this minute : Joan Jett, Crimson & Clover - rawr!! I always listen to this when I have to write something naughty. Keith Urban or ABBA for squishy scenes (I think we just discovered the reason everything I write comes out sunshine and faery farts...) oh, and the Corrs. Corrs or Cranberries or Van Morrison when I write about Ireland :) Van Morrison for steamy stuff. Cracker for downright bitchy stuff Other than that, Dire Straits, Belly, Night Ranger and hrmmm, umm... oh, who could forget Queen? My all time 2nd favorite band in the world! I was a prof. guitarist for years before a shoulder injury, so I have to have excellent guitar playing in the background. I'm a seventies classic rock junkie.

DarkMarguerite- 08-30-2006

I'm a 70's classic rock junkie and love ABBA as well. My iPod is filled with such a mix of genres and music that it boggles my mind.

Okay... I am currently listening to Randy Travis, but if I need inspiration for sexiness I play the sound track from \"City of Angles\" I like the bumps and grinds of Alanna Moracett(sp) and there is another one on there I wouldn't mind doing a strip act to. But I have mostly country music in my library... a little Creed, thanks to my son. K

I finally won an ipod but fedex have screwed up delivery. they put a card in my mailbox saying they couldn't deliver due to incomplete address info. Now I ask you, does that make ay sense? Not only did they get my exact box of 500 apartments (next to my door) but the apartment has a fully staffed front office to accept packages.

Not only did they get my exact box of 500 apartments (next to my door) but the apartment has a fully staffed front office to accept packages. Maybe you have a postcard only address? O.o The address worked well enough for the postcard, why not the ipod? These are the kinds of things that if we were to put them in fiction, no one would believe it.
