Well, I WISH I had finished, but I did make the 50k in 30 days. I don't feel a massive sense of achievement, given that I can type fast. Now I have to finish the novel. Blasted thing. I hope to print out my certificate in color and frame it and hang it. So I read yesterday that I'm one of only 70 people in New Zealand who finished Nano. I need to find out how many people signed up, but it does seem to me that not a lot of people finish ...

It would be interesting to know the percentage of people who finished. But, WOOHOO for you! That's a hefty accomplishment.

Heh I know I should consider praise where praise is due and just take it for what it is, but my instant reaction is 'heck, I'm a writer, massive word output is my meat and three vegs'. Thanks all though! I dispise the damn thing, but then I dispised by teen novel when I kicked it out, but I now rather liked it. I can't see how I'll ever like this pile of stuff, but I guess you need distance. And this makes novel number 2!

I got there too -- 50,166. I did several things (which you're not really supposed to do) a novella and some short stories. Not a good way to do it, and very confusing... Still, I got the words down! Well done Maui Potiki, and everyone else...

Congrats Maui and Lamia! I got to about 18K. I love the novel and will continue to work on it. Maybe next year I'll get the entire thing.
