"Gay" mystery plots I am tried of:

The victim or suspect's lover is the last person you would suspect because it was a homosexual relationship.

The murderer is a "crazed" homosexual whose advances the victim spurned.

Anything to do with cross dressing and/or conflating cross-dressing with homosexuality as the central mystery.

The apparent murder victim actually commited suicide because they are gay.

I may excuse Agatha Christie et al but modern writers (yes, "Lewis" and "Ghost Whisperer" writers, I mean you) have no excuses for this kind of lazy writer, digging up the "crazy queer" tropes.
